As the old saying goes "practice makes permanent - not perfect". When trying to increase performance in any area of life, it is easy to slip into the routine of just performing the act over and over and hoping to achieve the results desired. The general consensus is that if you work hard enough and are driven the good results will happen on their own. But for myself (and now my clients) I have found that a lesson I learned at a training day early on in my career was pivotal. I was at this training day for around 6 hours - but I took one saying home with me that day and have used it in every job and walk of life every single day of my life since then. "WORK SMARTER - NOT HARDER".

In golf we are all guilty of becoming range rats to try and ingrain what the swing coach told us - but seeing as the average handicap worldwide has been around 16-18 for decades I think it's fair to say that the regular approach isn't working!

I have countless clients who can testify to the permanent dropping of multiple shots from their game in a very short space of time. It's knowing how to measure, how to test and how to gather the correct information. Very rarely do most of my clients realise where the issues actually lie. Once we have the data, it becomes a simple process of mapping out where we are now and where we hope to be. We can then come up with a program of work that will ensure that any time spent on improving your game will actually make a difference to your score.
